Discover Dublin Taqueria

Walking into Dublin Taqueria for the first time felt like stepping into a neighborhood spot that already knew my order. The aroma of grilled carne asada and warm corn tortillas hits immediately, and it sets the tone for what turns out to be a relaxed, satisfying dining experience. Located at 3986 Summit Rd, Dublin, CA 94568, United States, this diner-style taqueria fits right into the rhythm of Dublin’s busy food scene without trying too hard to impress.

I stopped by on a weekday afternoon, the kind of time when regulars mix with first-timers. The menu is posted clearly above the counter, and it’s refreshingly straightforward. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and a few house specialties cover most cravings. I ordered the carne asada taco, al pastor burrito, and a side of rice and beans. Watching the kitchen work is part of the experience here. The meat is grilled to order, chopped quickly, and tucked into tortillas that are lightly toasted on the flat top. That small step makes a noticeable difference in texture and flavor.

The carne asada stood out right away. It was well-seasoned, juicy, and didn’t rely on heavy sauces to carry the flavor. According to research published by the USDA, proper grilling techniques help retain protein quality while enhancing natural taste, and that approach is clear in how the meat is prepared here. The al pastor had that slightly sweet, smoky balance you want, with pineapple cutting through the richness. Everything tasted fresh, not rushed, which says a lot for a place that stays consistently busy.

One thing I appreciate, both as a diner and as someone who’s spent years reviewing local restaurants, is consistency. Over multiple visits, the portions, seasoning, and service stayed reliable. That matters. The National Restaurant Association often points out that consistency is one of the top factors influencing repeat customers, and this spot seems to understand that well. Even during peak hours, orders came out accurate and hot, with staff calling names clearly and keeping things moving.

The dining area is simple and clean, more about comfort than style. You’ll see families, construction crews, and office workers all sharing tables. That mix says a lot. Reviews from locals often mention the friendly service, and I’d agree. Questions about the menu are answered patiently, and substitutions are handled without attitude. It’s the kind of place where asking for extra cilantro or no onions feels normal, not like a hassle.

What really anchors this taqueria is how well it fits into the community. Dublin has no shortage of Mexican food options, yet this location has carved out a loyal following. Part of that comes from pricing that feels fair, especially given current food costs. A solid meal here doesn’t feel like a splurge, which is increasingly rare. There are limitations, of course. Seating can get tight during lunch, and parking nearby fills up fast. If you’re planning a quick visit, timing helps.

From tacos that respect tradition to burritos that don’t fall apart halfway through, the overall process here feels intentional. The cooks focus on technique, the staff focuses on flow, and the result is food that people come back for. Whether you’re scanning reviews before deciding where to eat or just driving by and craving something reliable, this taqueria delivers a grounded, honest experience that reflects what a good local diner should be.

  • I like this place because of all their vegetarian options. They also have outstanding horchata! Corn quesadillas, Brussel sprout tacos, black bean flautas, all solid choices. They also have fantastic cheese enchiladas, and their salsa bar is the hit. I've been three times in a month so obviously, I love it when I visit the area for business. I recommend eating in to take full enjoyment of all the selections at the salsa bar. The garlic salsa is the best. I like to mix it with the jalapeño salsa and some pico. I think some of the plates are a little pricey, but I'm from a different area where Mexican food is everywhere and modestly priced. I will say they have high-quality products and fresh food to make up for prices and the salsa bar. All in is fair and delicious. I'll be back for sure.

  • The food was so so good! Literally the best super burrito I’ve ever had (and I’ve had many over the years). The food is so authentic and delicious. Plus, I loved the salsa bar. Highly recommended! It’s my new go-to spot!

  • The restaurant was VERY clean, they offer free chips and sauces (maany), servers were very kind and knew their menu very well. My meat was good, and so were the shrimps! However rice was disappointing. That’s the only reason why I don’t give a full 5 to the food. We will definitely come back tho!

  • It’s my first time at a Mexican restaurant. The cashier, Mohammad, was very helpful with the menu and helped me choose my meal based off of my particular dietary preferences and needs. Thank you so much, Mohammad!

  • Tastes amazing! The salsas are the best part and the flavors is the dishes we were so good... We are coming back. This place has adapted to the Indian clientele... Lots of veggie options and some Indian flavors too. Did not try these fusion dishes, so not sure how good they are.

  • Been here several times and this place deserves a review. This has become my favorite Mexican place recently, but not everything is a hit. What I like are their soft tacos. I have tried different meats and my top ones are beef birria (birria de rez), chile verde, al pastor. I usually like lengua (beef tongue) in Japanese cuisine, but beef tongue here was so-so. I have tried their handmade tortillas and they were pretty good. However, I am not sure $3 for 3 tortillas is worth it. I also liked their quesadilla mediana. My wife was here one time and ordered the fish plate, but did not enjoy it as much. The chips and salsas bar has become the main attraction. I realized this is why I am there a lot. It is complimentary to your meal and I thoroughly enjoy it! They have 2 types of chips: tortilla chips and dorito chips. I get the pickled carrots as a palate cleanser and add the pickled onions to my tacos. The best sauce in my opinion is a mixed sauce: half garlic and half jalapeno. I cannot stop eating chips with this combo sauce. When it gets a bit too much, I dip the chips into my 2nd sauce: the tomato salsa with some hot chili oil. This is very different from the creamy garlic and jalapeno, but still tasty and gives it a slight kick. There is also a green taco salsa (not pictured) that I get and splash on my soft tacos. I see myself going to this place very often since it's very close and that chips & salsas bar is amazing. I look forward to trying more different items.
